hey all, I've recently found 2 war nickels--one is 42 and the other is 43 I think--and they don't have a mint mark over monticello.

what gives?

There were regular Nickels produced on 1942 as well as the silver ones. The regular one have the small mint mark to the right of Monticello. The 43 is a different story are you sure its 1943?

oh you're right. they're both 42...

so one of them does have the mint mark to the right of monticello, while the other one appears to have no mint mark whatsoever.

yes I've heard of the henning nickels, but it seems really difficult to identify them. I have like 10 rolls of old nickels I've just put aside bc I didn't know what to do with them...maybe it's time to dust em off.
Rest in Peace

The offer for a couple hundred dollars is still good. Look in the wanted section on page 2.
