Are there premium's out there for these early circulated San Francisco mint pennies? Besides the small date 70, of course.

Most are not really worth a lot more than others but so many people hoard S minted coins it becomes noticable that there are less in circulation and have been like this for a long time. At most coin shows it appears any S mint coin is selling for more than even a better graded D mint of the same year. This is also true of other denominations, not just cents.
I too used to save all 1970S Cents thinking some day I'll go through them and find lots of those small dates. After about 10 rolls saved I went through them and found none of the small dates so into the bank with the rest.

I found one last year - pictures are in the "Modern US Variety & Error Coins" if you care to search. I think the 1960 small date is the REALLY hard one to find in circulation, but unless you're really into roll searching I would just buy the 70S.

Make sure you know how to identify them though because I've seen them mislabeled on ebay and even in coin shops.

The mintage #'s for business strike 68 through 74 S-mint Memorials are very low. I don't know if there is any premium for them right now, but I'm keeping every one I find anyway. They might not be worth much in my lifetime, but I have 3 sons...and one granddaughter...

Time will tell.

I will be buying one for sure. But like someone else said here earlier, my LMC book is full of BU red coins. I need to find a match for the small date. With my recent itch being nickels, it might be some time before I pull that trigger on the small date

Don't know much about the cents, but that cent in the mint set is on my shopping list to snag if the opportunity

Copper feeds the hoard. But one day, I'm gonna have me some fun.
