i went to a bank and got a ton of good half dollars.

I guess that a collector wanted to cash his half dollars and I bought them for face value.

That 1995-S is worth a bit more as well as the 70's. Nice finds. Clad halves are not really worth hanging onto unless you are building a book with them. If they are in good shape they might bring a premium over .50 cents but not very often.

It was probably a stolen collection. Unfortunately.

Yea, or someone passed away and it got sold. But at least they were obtained in good conscience.

Nice score!

my mom got a roll of silver dimes and a roll of silver quarters a few years ago when she worked at a bank. She said that his wife died and he needed money. so I now have a few rolls.

While we collectors may drive some of these bank tellers insane with our buying and dumping habits it does serve a purpose. We are just applying the theory that bad money drives out good. Most tellers catch on quickly and start doing their own searching. But on occassion we get "lucky".

It is not our fault the government debases our money on a daily basis. We are just astute enough to try to benefit from our knowledge of numismatics in the process. Keep up the roll searching and may all of your efforts be fruitful! Sincerely, John Leckrone

Wolf times are bad yes. But people without knowledge don't see it as anything other than face value
