Here is my clipped planchet 1981 penny. Amazing how much circulation it's seen despite such an obvious error.

Pretty spectacular one, added to the collection. This one is struck on a nickel 50c planchet.

Nice 50 cent dollar it seems to have struck up well being a little thinner. Great find.

Could this be a harp?

Are those from the Moore auction? That 1981 has an interesting texture, almost like it was struck through a split planchet...

These two were part of a three coin lot I picked up for, I think, a bargain at $150 (before all those fees). I also filled a date hole in my planchet errors....it cost a little more than I hoped it would, but I hadn't seem one of the date before.

The high point of a die is the field which may strike the high points of a struck coin or not. A coins high point may strike a point on a on the die and then other points on the coin are kept from reaching deep point on the die. I need a press and dies!!

Hard to believe that it was in a VF-30 holder prior to it being cracked out and sent to PCGS...
