Does the hit on the cheek bring it to 63/64?

Nice Coin, 65 for sure but I would not be surprised to see it come back in a 66 holder. Luster is great and the fields are pretty clean. The ding on the cheek is a shame but awesome coin over all.

Beautiful 65 for sure. It is a shame about that hit on the cheek. Good find.

Thanks. Yeah, I know. That little hit is slightly detracting.

Bah, that coin is nearly flawless except for the cheek. It doesn't bother me at all and it looks more like an issue with the coin not being fully struck up in that area. The luster is outstanding on that coin. I have no idea what the value is for these, but if it's high enough at 66/67 I'd seriously think about sending it in. Luster goes a LONG way with the TPG's and a couple minor ticks don't usually keep a coin out of 66/67 land.

That is truly a well-preserved example of a tough to find Jefferson.

2010 RedBook lists a 1955 D/S in M65 at $90.

I believe this could go MS66 easy at a TPG.

Thanks for sharing.

I just might send it in in the hopes of at least a 66. I generally what I call "the 150 rule". That's where I will send a coin to a TPG only if it's value is at least $150, and it's one I think is worthy of being sent in.
I mean whats the point with the submission fees. This is one of those coins where I will hold off until I get a free grading voucher.
