I just picked up a handful of these "Historic Colorado Mining" silver coins that have a variety of themes. Has anyone seen these before? I think they came out in the early 90s and right now, I have the 4 in the wildlife series as well as the western themed ones with the Stagecoach, Locomotive, Horses and Scales.

The wierd thing is I cracked them from their protective plastic and they all have various weights. They say .999 fine silver on the face, but in the 12 that I have, 6 are .64oz, 3 are .71oz, 1 is .73oz, 1 is .77oz, and the last are .8oz.

The coins all look the same except for a minor difference in thickness. I was wondering if they were meant to be different.

Here are the coins. As I was laying them out for the photo, I noticed that just because two had the same design it didn't mean they were the same weight. I have one that is the scales design with a weight of .71 and one that's .8. Others are like that too.

I guess they were low quality and had low quality control, but at least they are .999.
