Wow... A hundred years between these last few and WWII. Kinda puts it into perspective! These were minted in, well, not an exactly ideal society with happy-go-lucky life - but a life with a lot of hope BEFORE brother was pitted against brother in our Civil War. I'd love to hear these yarn a bit. Has anybody invented the Universal Coin-To-Voice Translator Device?

The Civil War was a gentleman's war. If the enemy routed a position, they got the spoils, among which medicines are pharmacy tools were a popular item.

The victor would leave an IOU for the items they took, and kept track of what they "borrowed", to return it after the conflict.

Terrific pics! I've recently started collecting large cents and in the past few weeks went from 0 coins to 7 coins.

1816, 1828, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1851 and 1852. They're great to have and will be getting more.

Love that copper.
