These are tough because of inferior copper blanks used. I also think that I've heard that some were used as ballast in ship hulls and the salt water wasn't all that kind to the blanks either. This was for quite a lot of the early coppers. Mine is mushy and corroded but I like it. I always think of the War of 1812 and also Puffed Rice for some reason?

1819 cent, graded EF40 by PCI and identified as Large Date on the label. I actually think it's an 1819/8 overdate, variety N-1. I sent it to ANACS for crossover and hopefully they will confirm the variety.
