These are tough because of inferior copper blanks used. I also think that I've heard that some were used as ballast in ship hulls and the salt water wasn't all that kind to the blanks either. This was for quite a lot of the early coppers. Mine is mushy and corroded but I like it. I always think of the War of 1812 and also Puffed Rice for some reason?

And since there were no US copper coins minted for circulation in 1815, we're skipping it! 1816!!
