Hint: All posted guesses were right about the origin. Now just make sure the second statement of the question is satisfied!

ok, now I am really confused because rickando's answer looked pretty good to me and I even looked up each of those currencies...I have no clue if those are wrong

The word kopek, kopeck, copeck, or kopeyka (in Russian: копейка, kopeyka) derives from the Russian kop'yo (копьÑ') -- a spear. The first kopek coins, minted at Novgorod and Pskov from about 1535 onwards, show a horseman with a spear. From the 1540s onwards the horseman bears a crown, and doubtless the intention was to represent Ivan the Terrible, who was Grand Prince of all Russia until 1547, and Tsar thereafter. Subsequent mintings of the coin, starting in the 1700s, bear instead Saint George striking down a serpent.

By the way the word ruble is derived from a word to chop, or chopped (with an ax). Apparently that's how the planchets for the coins were prepared.

Belarus never issued circulation coins and they never issued denomination below 1 rubel!

The only other place to issue kopecks is Trans(d)niestria but they are not recognized as independent, it's a part of Moldova with the lei/bani system.
