Going through my dad's album of American coins, there are some interesting things. This is among them - 2 obverse, 1877 on one side and 1875 on the other. Is there any way this might be 'real'?

Sorry, false alarm. I just noticed the seam on parts of the edge. I sincerely apologize for not noticing it before!

I thought I had looked for a seam, but I guess, a) I didn't look, b) I missed it, or c) need new glasses.

Very interesting two-headed coin and the seams are well-done. Still has silver content though!

mycrob .... thank you for your, ah, generosity. I really feel stupid for not noticing the seam. Oh well, lesson learned - take more time, take things slower.

jimineez .... I know where the coin has been for 40 years or so and from the quality of the join, I KNOW my dad didn't do it. Someone was serious when they did this one. The seam is almost invisible in a couple of places, the milling lines up and there is wear and some nicks that go across the seam line. Looks like someone had a serious agenda when they did this.

Just goes to show that two headed trick coins have been around for a LONG time. I have an 1806 two headed large cent that has been created in the same manner.
