They still make money with shipping. It cost them 26 cents to make one dollar and then sell that coin for a dollar. One set of 250 will make them 185 dollars. (A mint employer told me this information). It is a good program for them. I wish they had one for the ATB sets. I heard that the average mintage is 61 million per set and that the US has predicted a total of 100 million citizens putting together a set. This set is going to be extremely expensive and time consuming to put together. Already one year and have not found a single ATB Quarter. At least it is now going to be easier to get pres dollars. and they are also doing it to the 2001 and 2010 Sacagawea dollar. Odd but I liked the design of the 2010 Sacagawea dollar.

If you buy a box it's pretty easy to spend $100/month if you use them for all your small transactions.
I really wish they would do this for the quarters too.

Well, just don't forget guys, that now that the "Satin Finish" is gone, everyone can put together Sets of ALL of the denominations, by breaking them out of Uncirculated Mint Sets now. (like the old days) All of these aforementioned coins can now be had in business strike from the Mint Sets. The NIFC Half The Native Dollar ATB's The Presidential dollars etc.etc.This will just be much easier/simpler for me to do than the "direct ship" method, by far.

AND......I might remind everyone too, that YOU DO NOT GET " BOTH" MINTS WHEN YOU USE THE DIRECT SHIP METHOD. You will, however, get both P & D coins from the yearly Mint Sets....

I'm glad they have all the 2010's on direct ship (for now anyway) and that they put the 09 Sacagaweas up, I somehow missed getting those.
If anyone orders any of these, let us know what mint mark you get, there are a couple Ds I am missing.

I picked up some Buchanans and the 09 native americans (now sold out), both were D mint coins.
I missed the Filmores so if anyone has rolls of D Filmores and wants to trade, post in the trade forum.

You might not need 10 rolls but like RPT said if you spend them here and there it is pretty easy to get rid of them. If you own any type of truck or SUV one or two fill ups at the gas station will rid you of the ones you don't want.

I like to get them and spend at yard sales and what not. One of the local car washes look at me like I am crazy when I spend them. LOL
I can find them at banks occasionally. They are usually mixed with SBAs.

Yes the credit card points is what is really attractive about this. However I do remember someone saying that credit card companies no longer give the points when you purchase these. If anyone could give any info on this I would appriciate it. Thanks.

They were supposedly going to process it as a cash advance and not a normal credit purchase. Cash advances do not qualify for program/reward points. You can read a previous discussion here.
