The best way to describe Machine Doubling is when the numbers or letters are not the same height as the original numbers or letters. They are always flatter due to being puched twice. It looks like Machine Doubling to me.

It's VERY simple...the date and mintmark are affected in the same way. This is ALWAYS Machine Doubling.
