i have posted this coin previously. this time my question is, would anyone else even bother to catalogue and save this coin, given its low grade and damaged condition. I would feel bad relegating it to the 1940's copper bucket, given that it was a pretty cool RPM in its prime. I guess there is certainly no hard done by giving it its own sleve and slot in my storage system.

At one time it would be collectable. Now, who would buy it? Circulated RPMs are a hard sell when BU's are some much more desirable.

That one is beyond circulated, but I have a hard time throwing stuff like that away too.

In spite of it's condition if you collect RPM's I say catalog it and keep it in your collection until you find a better one to replace it. After all it is still an RPM.

Oh...forgot to answer the first question...

Would I bother to catalog and save this? No. I woudln't even know it's a die variety. I ONLY look at EF and above coins. I cull out everything else before it hits the scope. No sense trashing my eyes more to look at low grade and damaged coins when I don't want them anyway.
