Poll Question
I think there is a MUCH better quality to these ATB Qtrs. when compared to the Statehood Qtrs.
There seems to be a "depth" to each portrait depiction from the artists/designers/engravers, that was really lacking in the Statehood Qtrs.
By "depth", I mean the "closeness" and the "far away" aspect to each of the designs are much more interesting to me.
They seem to really "pop". And one can study each depiction for some time, to actually take it all in.

I do not think that the ATB's will repeat the success of the Statehoods in popularity though, but they are better quality....at least with the "art", IMO.
Exactly what is chosen to put onto the coins can be up for debate.......I just mean, that it seems to have so much more of a quality with what is there.

All please elaborate and pontificate with your thoughts about this subject.......Don't just vote and leave ! ...

Poll Choices
ATB's are a much better quality design
Statehoods are a better quality design
They're both about the same to me
I don't care about either one, don't collect them !

pontificating...
I think the ATB's are sooo much better then the states. The fact that each have a similar design element and then such interesting subject matter that is artfully done is just great! I think they will do better then the State Quarters actually!

elaborating...
I like to collect from circulation just for the fun of filling folders. I still have not found some of the denver minted State Quarters from 2006-2008! I have not even found some of the phili territories! (and I'm two hours away from phili!) The ATB's, well, I have seen three! Only three total, and I have coin laundry!! Pretty safe to say these are getting horded and the mintages are staying relatively low.

All it's going to take is one mis-step from the mint to have the ATB's skyrocket in interest. A good error, significant mintage drop, or anything else that gets them into the news and wakes everyone up to what is going on with their pocket change.

Quarters are going to be the Jefferson's of my kids collecting. Used to be with two rolls of nickels one could have a great start at a nickel collection. In 10-15 years it will be two rolls of quarters will get you some fun finding all kinds of different, interesting, educational, historical, hole fillers.

I like both of them myself but do think the ATB's are a better product. The ATB silver proofs are beautiful. Had not seen an ATB in circulation till last week, when I got one BU Yosemite then 8 BU Fort Hood plus a full roll from the till where my wife works. Hopefully she comes up with some more.

I wish I could afford to get the "Two Roll Sets" of these all the way through the 10 year plus program.....but that's unrealistic for me...
I'll just have to appreciate them through the BU singles that I find, and through the Mint, Proof, and Silver Proof sets that I'll get or already have.

Hoarding rolls of the ATB's could be an interesting prospect for sure, for all of the reasons mentioned so far......and I'll definitely be jealous of those who can do it ! ....

But MAN !! I just can't get over how impressed I am with these designs ! .......

I really like the Glacier Natl. Park one too !
And the Olympic one !
And the Yellowstone !
And the Yosemite !
And the Grand Canyon !
And the Mount Hood !
And the Vicksburg !
And the Gettysburg
!

Okay ! Okay ! .....

Obviously ........ I like most ALL OF THEM SO FAR !

(The Hot Springs Qtr. may be the only exception though....not a big fan of that one really)

I think they look great. Better than the State Quarters IMO.

I'm surprised none of the roll searchers have come up with a box of ATBs. Seems they get a box of new nickels and cents quite often.

Yeah, the ATB are clearly better designed in my opinion because all of the space in the Circle that is surrounded by the circle with the State Park and the year is taken up, as opposed to some States that head tons of open space. *cough* Delaware *cough*. Also I like how they went back to the Old Washington hair lines as well.

I was just thinking this the other day. The ATB Quarter's scenes are so much better. Some of the State Quarters were good. Colorado comes to mind, but some of them were really terrible. Nothing more than a state outline with some garbage around it.

So far, you are correct. I hate to suggest this; but, give em time cause I think they'll eventually screw them up.

Ouch, I must be in a bad mood tonight. Better sign off.

My vote.

I think this is a case of them learning from the mistakes and feedback from the first series.

The State Quarters are one of my favorite series.

But I do think the ATB's are a much better design. Not sure yet if I will like the ATB's but I am sure
I will like them just as much.

Last year I purchased all five two roll sets. I am hoping I will be able to continue to buy all the rest.
Of course I am not liking that they raised the prices for most everything I like to buy from the mint.

I really wish the State Quarters were as well thought out as the ATB.
I wanted to collect all the state ones but I WILL collect all the ATB ones.

I like the State Quarters, but like the ATB's more. The designs just look better overall.

I did not vote ... have never received a single ATB in circulation ... none ... nada ... zippo.

Have no basis for comparison.

i was cleaning my room this evening and stumbled upon my only ATB Quarter that I got back in change from last year. I was admiring the design and was thinking to myself that ATB's are a better designed then the Statehood Quarters. then I log on here and see this thread. I gotta agree they do pop.

I deliver pizza, and I have 4 or 5 of them now. I really really like them.
