Going through some rolls today and found this odd one. Any idea what caused it? It is all across the outer obv letters and date. Hope the pics are good.

Looks like a hard polishing on the die to remove a clash. Looks like they worked it over good!

i would say over-polishing the dies is the culprit

I would guess a very peculiar form of Die Deterioration. Note how the lines extend from the "halo" around each number. That halo is a typical manifestation of Die Deterioration.
Error coin writer and researcher.
