Ya, me too. My computer system was corrupted recently and I needed to reprogram my entire system. I may need to do it again.

There's alot of viruses and worms on the net...i recommand that you download :

1)Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal
2)Spybot
3)AVG Anti-Virus software
3Bazooka Scanner

And they are all free and have updates often...and they are quiet effective.
And every two or three days..do a manual scan with all the four.

Regards,
Patrick

I had no trouble ,till I put in the first two, then my messenger was all messed up.After trying to talk to India,I had to reinstall everything.Luckily it worked. And watch out for programs that masquerade as ad aware. That wasnt my problem.I also couldnt get rid of the stuff entirely.

Sand....I've been using them for a long time and I say they rock because they don't use alot of

your system resources they are very light and they are very effective specially spybot because it

locks your registry..so nothing can get in without your consent..the program just gives you a

message that it blocked a adware..or a spyware..or anything that is trying to get downloaded onto

your pc without your permission because where ever you go these days on the net things that can

harm your computer gets downloaded..go read about it and see what it can do...second..I have

installed all of them on all my family members pcs..3 notebooks and one pc...and it's on my new

compaq 1.8ghertz notebook too.

Adaware is very effective too...this one mainly catches spying cookies that gets downloaded on your

pc. These so called tracking cookies watch what you do..how you browse...where you go....so their

owners can later spam you.....i also suggest that you read about it too.

As for AVG...it's a very effective anti virus software...and there's everyday..everyday a new

update...read about it.

Bazooka is good too but it's not necessary to install...read about it.

Here are the links :

The Ad-Aware free SE version download button is below..at the button..don't clik on the first Download button when open their page.

http://www.lavasoft.de/products/ad-...personal.php

http://www.tucows.com/preview/310138

http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Vi...0320142.html

http://www.fileedge.com/Cat/Securit...ware-Scanner.

html

Ad-aware scan your pc automatically from time to time then quarantine what it catch..to be deleted

later. But I suggest that you do a scan yourself manually ..every...say 3 days.
