Howdy all, hope everyone is well. Was wondering why there aren't any first strike coins in the lower denominations. Nickel, dime, quarter, cent or half dollar. Do these designations not apply to the lower valued coins? I don't collect these designations but alot of people do. I think by the standards that the TPGs set for the first strike they should also apply to mint sets and proof sets. Actually any coin that the usmint releases. If they do this already then I stand corrected. Thanks. Have a great day.

I guess you have a point in that at least the slobbing services should be consistent across the board.
IMHO, first strike designations are meaningless unless you can tell by the coin, ie: cameos in early proofs and silver dollars, then who needs a slobbing service to tell you that? I don't think they will hold any extra value in the long run.
