I do not get the symbolism of the "fork".
Could someone explain it to me?

I liked 8-12 but I think 8 was already rejected so I'll pick 10-4 IMO ALWAYS REMEMBER on the obverse and NO DAY SHALL ERASE YOU FROM THE MEMORY OF TIME. gasman96

I would have liked to seen the actual pre 9-11 twin towers shadow in the back ground with the new park tower design in front of it Then on the front the actual lady liberty statue

I don't like any of them, I do not think either design depicts anything I think of when I think about that day. I like some of the designs just not for this coin. that being said I will probably buy one no matter the design just because but I would rather it symbolize something I could relate to

I'm "uncomfortable" with a 9/11 Commem. coin in general.... I don't know why, I just am. I know "private" Mints have been making money off the public with this kind of stuff for YEARS. One of them even has "the Towers" that even flip up off the coin and stuff.....sheeeeesh.... I guess, why shouldn't the Mint do something for the 10th anniversary ? ...... dunno...... I'm just uncomfortable with it.

I know "private" Mints have been making money off the public with this kind of stuff for YEARS. I think you have your answer, because that is why I am uncomfortable with it. I am not saying they should not make this, just that it does not make me feel happy that they will be confused with the other tripe released over the last ten years.

Thats true eaglefoot jbuck a COMM that COMMS a event that killed thousands of people in a terrorist act. Yea I can see some people not wanting it to be on a coin.
I mean things like victories , celebrations, winning wars, remembering pres or famous people for achievements stuff like that should be remembered , but a terrorist act such as 9-11 that kinda falls short in my opinion for a comm coin.
I mean I can see people wanting " to not forget" , but then I see the point of why make coin minters profit over something such as a terrorist attack.

it is like a disabled Vet coin to me. Its not something I like to think about but there will be part of the money spent on a fund for them in some way from the US Mint. As long as I know part of the money is going to go to a fund for the families or to some memorial I am ok with it. I do not like all the things that have been made from private mints just to make a buck but I think US commems are a little different then those

I will buy one but don't like any of the obverses or reverses.
I don't think that most of the public would understand most of the obverses.
As of for the reverse, the options are way too complex. A simple design with the wording would be much better.

Ultimately the design is irrelevant to me; as I am not interested because this is a medal and not a coin. This distinction also adds to the potential confusion and association with third party products.
