I know the scans are not the best,but does the date appear doubled?

No, the coin appears to be re-plated and that is a common thing to find on 1943 dated cents. They are called re-processed. The act of replating the coins often makes the date and some other details look a little doubled. These were replated outside of the Mint so that rusted, damaged coins could be sold to unsuspecting consumers.

Even if the coin is not re-processed, there is no doubling of consequence on the coin.
