I am not much on currency, but I thought a ladder note was having the numbers in consecutive order up or down. 01234567 or 87654321 and so on. What am I missing here. Just looking for some info.

I know that a ladder can also be series of numbers of any length.

But in this case, it is 2444, 2555 not 2444, 2445?

Bit of a stretch I know. I was looking at the other ladder thread and saw similar notes. My thinking on this one is 2555-2444-2333-2222 etc.

I think that's a cool number and while it may not be a valuable note I definitely think that is a keeper serial.

Thanks. Gotta start somewhere. A lot easier if "somewhere" is from circulation. More gratifying too. Hopefully I can find some better examples in the future.
Rest in Peace

Friend of mine got a couple hundred new $2 today, from 08886101-300. I figure the best ones would be 08886111 (aces and eights), 08886222 (deuces and eights), 08886188 and 08886288 (five eights).

Very nice! What's the easiest way to go about doing this? Just go to a bank and ask for a strap of a certain denomination?

That's it in a nutshell, when you are looking for notes at face value. The more you get the better your chances of finding something. Also ask if they have some that are uncirculated or close to it.
