Exactly what I was thinking.

I see (1)948, the '1' being implied (not pictured). Unless that is a really bad '5' on the end.

1948 is my best guess. Try tilting it under a light to get views from different angles. I have a Wheatie with the last number worn smooth but I'm convinced that at a certain angle I can see 1913.

I'm thinking 1948, but I agree a little less magnification would help.
