I like this thread. Hopefully I can eventually get some pics of the damaged coins I've kept.

Here is a poor Franklin I found whilst going through a roll of halves. Looks like someone took him to a table saw!

b_twill, That's just sad. So sad. I've been looking for nice examples of both the type 1 and type 2 Franklin halves. That's a 1953 right? Which mint?

I once saw a silver trime that someone fashioned into a what I could only guess was a watch gear- the edge had teeth carved into it and the center had a perfectly made tiny hole. The work was very precise on such a small coin, I can only assume that a jeweler or watchmaker did it.

Pity someone did that to a Half Cent. I like the Franklin half though, looks kinda cool And we want pics of that trime you mentioned, Biokemist!

Unfortunately, I do not have it as I was merely the second highest bidder on that bid board auction One of the very few times I was actually willing to pay good money for a mutilated coin.

All very fascinating PMD. It's too bad you weren't able to snag that trime biokemist. That would definitely get attention. Not sure how little a trime is, but it sounds small! I'll have to wait til morning to get a picture posted of another PMD I found over the weekend. (it's late, and the wife will be really mad if I wake her!) Anyhoo, hope you all come back again with more!

Was planning on posting two PMD that I have. Seemed to have misplaced one of them. Found this one roll searching. Enjoy.

I found a strangely damaged dime this week, and decided to post it along with a penny I've had for a while. I think the dime must be from a rolling machine gone haywire, and the penny must be from a pair of idle, bored hands.

I run into weird stuff I don't know what to think of, I like finding stamped pennies, I have about 5 of them now. Heck, I even like tracking wheres george dollar bills, been awhile since I found one, would be neat to do that with coins somehow but seems like impossible. My 1955S I found the other day had a blob of looks to be copper filling the top of the middle 5, I don't really want to touch or try to clean it. Just a nice find for me is all. I just put weird stuff into a separate tube so they don't get lost with all the others. I did find a barely clipped 41 wheat when I bought a bag of wheats some time back. I find a few completely destroyed zinc pennies, I allow myself to throw a few per box right into the garbage.

Thought I might try reviving an older thread. Anyone have some PMD they'd like to share?
