I just won an auction for this piece. Sorry for the poor quality images, they are from the listing so if there is any interest I will post more once I receive the coin.

Thoughts on possible grade?

Hehe.. I'm not even gonna guess n grade.. I don't know my Three Cent pieces, and the pic is kinda blurry..

When you do get the coin, take a new pic, and post it in the classic coin grading sub-forum.. I'm sure you'll get more replies
Rest in Peace

EF-40? It's dead in the hair curls against the forehead, face and neck.

This one confuses me a bit.. Looks like a fully struck III on it, with little to no wear on the reverse that I see. So have to think it was a good strike.. Missing lots of detail like eddiespin said... I'm going to say EF40 too.

Prethen - do you view the lack of details in the hair as a weak strike or as wear? If it's a weak strike, is the hair the most difficult place to have a full strike - or can they be weakly struck on just one side?

Looks like a typical non-hammered strike to me. The reverse basically tells me all I need to know when I look at the leaf detail, which in this case is very strong.
