MS-62-63, maybe 63 because of the reverse being nice and clean.

Lustrous mint state, not proof-like that I see. Reverse looks MS64 but the baggy obverse would hold it to MS62 IMO.

I'm going to say MS-62. Pretty decent reverse strike for New Orleans mint, but typical weakness above the ear for the mint.

I agree. Obverse 62, can't go any higher, too many hits. Reverse quite nice with a good strike for the issue. Nice overall luster. MS62

I would pay MS62 price...Nice coin though....I sometimes wonder if these enlarged photos make the nicks look larger than they are if you know what I mean. I use a loup always when grading, but, I don't think the magnification ever equals these photos. I often wonder if when we try to grade using these photos if the grade we all give is realistic.....? I was always taught even back in the 1960's and I still go by this today that you always examine the coin first without magnification and then use magnification to look for imperfections and wear..

Knowing that these things were thrown into bags haphazardly, how is it that Morgan reverses are always so much nicer than obverses?

Seems the reverse design better protects the devices. Miss Liberty's cheek and jaw were magnets for bagmarks.
I agree it's probably a 62 but the large images might make her look a little worse than she really is.

Yes, I think it's the design; plus, probably, the lower relief. In this condition, though, it's kind of surprising to me that the eagle's chest, at least, hadn't sustained any luster grazes. That's a plus.
BTW, I see the reflection, but the fields just look too glassy to me. I don't know, I might be looking too hard.
