Hey guys. I was looking through a box of quarters I have pulled from circulation that had dates before 1970. Unfortunately for me, only one was silver (a 1964 no mint). Most are 1965 and 1966. Should I hold on to these because of their age or is it okay to let them go? Thanks!
Rest in Peace

Check the 65s for a DDO, the 66s for a DDR, the 68Ds for a DDR, the 69Ds for a rpm. There are a few more things to look for if you're so inclined

You might check the 65's for possibly being silver. Somewhere I heard that a few of the 65's were struck on 64 planchets by mistake. Now I don't know if that is true or it's just some story originated from a barroom someplace or what. Check the edges to see if you can see any copper.

My search yielded a whole lotta nothing. I guess it is time to frustrate cashiers by paying for purchases with quarters. :D

Either that or offer them at face plus shipping to collectors here who might want to hang onto them. Can't hurt to offer.

BTW, I don't want them...but if someone were going to spend a bunch of cents because they were tired of hanging onto them, I would take them at face value.
