How much would one expect to pay for silver I. Ferdinand denar coins from Hungary dated 1563 and 1547? I ask because I have them in my cross-hairs. One is $20 and the other is $25....
Rest in Peace

acg-

I've seen the all over the board, depending on whether they're slobbed/high grade. Silver content is around 0.03 tr oz. Some listed on ebay under $5. Popular for Madonna + Kid design.

Maybe page 59 is jinxing 1659? Too bad if we stop now. I have several more to offer down the road, but as earlier stated - no 1659 whatsoever. I remember bidding for an 8 skilling 1659 on several occasions but always coming up short.

Litotes, yes...thanks for the reminder!
Here is a Livonia solidus, dated to (16)57.
It's a tiny coin, weighing all of 0,38gr.

That 1655 has some odd wear (bad planchet, more likely), but also excellent centering and amazing detail.
