Litotes, I do like that 1627 Salzburg 1/9 coin of Saint Rupert. What size is it? I'll be showing a larger version soon. Meanwhile, here is a 1626 Leopold thaler from the prolific Austrian Tyrol mint. size = 42mm.

mysilveryears, the 1/9 is 23 mms. I measured the weight to 3,19 grams so it has the same fineness as the bigger coins such as your lovely one from Tyrol.

I have two coins dated 1625, both from Saxony. The first is a silver groschen of John George; size= 24mm. > Second is a much larger, amazingly detailed 'Four Brothers' thaler; size= 43mm. >

It's nice to see folks are strong in this time period but it is not supposed to be a race, guys.. at least a day or so between years to give some others a chance to squeeze a coin in edgewise would be nice. I have a string from 1625 through 1620 & I dunno whether to catch up or not. I wonder what else got missed. Here it's at 1617 already; we have just speed-posted through most of a decade in one day. Tell me y'all can do that from now through the whole of the 16th century and I'll just sit back and watch.
