Are you asking about new 50 pence designs from England? Last I read was 29 design with a total of 87 million. But I haven't found any breakdown on how many of each were released.
There not all out yet are they? I thought I read they were being released this year.

There was something, it was between 400,000 and 1 million for each of the 16 designs that have been released so far!

Also, try to remember all those hoarders of comm. issue 50p's.. small size comm. 50p's are hoarded very similar to State Quarters.

Yes, but 3 million of each will be released, so it is the rarest now. My coin is even rarer, and I have one, none in circulation. Strange thing is, people have paid more on ebay for circulation coins than they can buy them straight from the mint at £2.90 or whatever it comes to buying all 29 together. I also have a very nice cycling one, the irony of it all was the kid's school knew nothing about the competition, one day the mint turns up and says to the school, here's £10,000 for your school, and the kid got no money!

Kena has posted the circulation quantities as at the present time, and all these are dated 2011 (although some appeared towards the end of 2010). The other 13 are still awaited, but as The Royal Mint folder for them has 30 spaces ... From the wording of the Royal Proclamation "and the date of the year" there is no reason why more cannot be issued dated 2012, as the "authority" for them exists. I managed to obtain all 16 which have been circulated so far, in change, although I did have a few shop and bar staff watching for them for me. The interesting one is "Athletics", which was issued direct from The Royal Mint as UNC (this grade of strike confirmed by Royal Mint) dated 2009. At the time, we called it the "Blue Peter" 50p, as it resulted from a competition in the BBC children's' programme of that name. I think that the grades of strike now used can be dealt with as a separate topic. Bill.

There will be more coming out. Don't know when they will appear, I think it depends more on when the banks need to give out 50ps, which is generally xmas and sales time when things are half price. Almost everything is 99p, 1.99, 2.99, 3.99 so no 50ps required!!

Agreed.
Some people comment that they haven't seen a certain type of coin in their area, but obviously the distribution is only to satisfy demand, so if there is only a shortage of a particular denomination in (say) Bournemouth, they would get the next shipment - and the particular design of coin supplied would probably be the nearest available and not necessarily the commemorative type.
Bill.
