Quote: Is it possible silver could hit $100 an ounce? This is now more of a "when" question than an "if". A better question is, will it stay at $100+ an ounce, and for how long?

I agree. $100/oz silver will happen, we just don't know when. It could be years away or it could happen this fall. What we've seen this month shows a lot of support at $40+ and that's a strong signal that silver has been undervalued for a long time. That and the USD is still headed down.

Yes, at the rate silver is going up after passing 40(roughly a buck a day), I figure we may see 50 an oz by the end of the month. Crazy to say I know, but I looked a minute ago, and it is like 35 cents short of 46 an oz, lol....

It was within 5 cents of $46 a few minutes ago! It just can't seem to make that final $46 leap. Maybe tomorrow(actually, later today)!

Sell some, keep some. At least you will have cut your losses when the price crash comes.

I bought some nice key date Coppers and Nickels with the proceeds from selling my silver.....so I'm gonna try to be happy no matter what happens ! .... If it does get to $100.00 an oz...., I WILL be a bit depressed though ! ....

The symbolic $50 price point is still an obstacle at the moment. Once $50 is passed, the fun begins. Quote: eaglefoot: I bought some nice key date Coppers and Nickels. $100+ silver would significantly increase collectors' interest in copper-nickel coins.

I Plan on putting my Junk silver on ebay this weekend and buying me a 1914-D Lincoln.

Quote: That looks like a good plan to me. Thanks Jbuck - I have been wrestling with the idea for a week or so. I figure I will be kicking my sell if Silver drops significantly and if Silver goes up - I still have plenty of Silver thats not "Junk".

I must admit, that if Silver reaches much higher than $50.00 an oz., I may consider parting with some "duplicate" Silver State Qtrs., and other coins...... HECK ! ...... if it gets high enough, I might even sell ALL of my Silver State Qtrs ! Right out of my Dansco ! ..... A better trade off ? ..... selling Silver State Qtrs for a 1914 D ? Or ALWAYS having an empty hole for the 1914 D and watching Silver plummet someday, and/or the interest and value in St. Qtrs., is just ignored by everyone. Dunno....I DO like my silver st. qtrs.......but a '14 D would be AMAZING ! I've kinda got hooked on selling Silver to buy Copper/Nickel keys and/or semi-keys, and even lots of BU coins. (at least they would HOLD their value... historically for the most part !).... (Whereas Silver may NOT !) Speculation with what Silver may or may not do is a very popular thing to do right now......but I just look at the historical roller coaster ride and see what I need to see. The safer bet is the more Classic or Modern/Classic materials. One could have regret no matter if you sold it at the wrong time......or held it forever not taking advantage of the times. And speaking of the 1914 D......yeah, I nearly bought one a few weeks ago, during one "Silver selling spree". I'm still SO VERY TEMPTED to do so ! But now, I'm about out of "junk silver", and it would have to be "Proof Gold" or "Proof Silver" stuff that I have left. "And" the wife may have an opinion or two about spending that kind of money on a coin....

Of course, I would not actually 'sell' the silver. I trade it with a dealer for the 1914-D, which is what I did to get some Franklin half dollars I needed.

I think we'll see that trend for another week or two before it makes the push for 50+ . Hopefully I'll be able to grab a little more.
Then again....
