Quote: I'm hoping it hits $25 by the end of the week, and $12 the week after.Low grade silver coins are getting too expensive. - DBM Boo! Hiss! lol Quote: There was too much money being printed in these last few years (which we all know is backed by nothing solid). History has shown over and over that when this happens, we get inflation and the non-backed currency buys less and less product. However, history also shows silver has retained the same value with respect to goods. So as the dollar goes down, silver has to be worth more dollars. With the new taxes and new gas prices it is said the current administration wants to impose, silver should either continue to climb or level off and stay close to where it is. - Earle42 Agree with this BIG-TIME! As others have said, "A fiat currency tends to approach its intrinsic value"... which we all know is pretty close to zero... and the US dollar is working at it over-time! Just think about this, my fellow silver (and gold) bugs. When we hold a PM coin or bar in our hands, feel the heft of it and how solid it is, and see its beauty and luster, how can we listen to some smarmy politician or bureaucrat tell us that massively over-printed paper fiat currency has real value and our PMs are an archaic throwback? My thought is to punch the little pencil-necked geek and go on about my business. I would not do that, of course, but the desire IS there! Quote: I see no reason it wouldn't hit 50, but when it does, lots of people will take profits on at least part of their holdings. - BiggFredd This seems reasonable to me. People taking profits via selling their silver could very well cause a silver price pull-back of up to $5 or so per oz. and probably less than that. The trick will be... what comes after that? I'm thinking that we are in a long-term PM bull market, so any such price pull-backs are nothing but buying opportunities for us long-term PM holders. Quote: The guys in China and India are buying silver like there's no tomorrow! - BH1964 I am willing to concede that they may know something that we do not. Maybe there IS no tomorrow for the US dollar? Both India and China have tons of dollars that they have earned via trading around the world. It makes sense that they would want to diversify their holdings and not keep them all in a shrinking currency that does nothing for them but make their money cheaper with time. As an American, I have to say that I have too much of my net worth in dollars and dollar denominated assets. PMs are a great way to diversify out of some of that. If the US dollar was as competently managed as the Swiss Franc, I would probably not feel this way. But it isn't! Additionally, Japan is having a very difficult time right now and will need a HUGE amount of money to rebuild the NE part of their country. They have about $850B worth of US Treasury bonds that will very likely be sold off over time to provide these funds. This is probably not their favorite choice here but it may be their only choice to get their hands on a lot of money relatively quickly. Watch the bond markets to see if a lot of US Treasuries are being sold, particularly by Japan, but also by India and China. Doing this will further weaken the US dollar and lead to higher PM prices.

I'm definitly a patriot and I love America, but we put ourselves in this mess and China is running its country like a business and is doing a good job running that business......Now the communist country is telling everyone in china to buy silver and gold as investments? Something is there that America is not seeing....im going to be holding my silver for ALONG time and most likely will be buying here and there especially anytime it drops back a little because I can see this PM market skyrocketing if america dosnt shape its "leaders" up FAST *stocking up on silver, guns, and ammo for when our baby boomers start to retire and expect our broke country to support them" nothing good will come of this....PM's will do nothing but go up

I have been thinking $50 before April ends for awhile and hoping for a drop because of folks collecting some profits. I don't think it will be any reasonable drop and will only substantiate others coming in and buying as much as they can (i.e. not coin collectors) and pushing prices up further. Sign of the times guys.

Commies telling us how to do business and run a country? Not sure what the world is coming to these days but I sincerely agree that we brought a lot of this on ourselves. I love my country dearly but would flush about 95% of the politicians who run it down the drain... with a smile on my face and a song in my heart! I think that the worst of all our financial problems stems from the fact that we now have so much debt that it is becoming more and more difficult to pay it off. At some point, it will no longer be possible to pay the interest on it, let alone pay it off. Default on this huge debt may well be the only way out of it... essentially declare national bankruptcy. I hope and pray that it will never come to that but the ability of our pandering politicians to resolve such a huge and politically charged issue is in severe doubt. Their record at doing the right thing for the country at the expense of their own careers is abysmal.

US best hope is that the rest of the world gives them a get out of jail card and you owe us big time forever, and declare that national bankruptcy. Wiping the slate clean is the US's only hope, no way they will ever print off enough money to pay all those debts....
You wanna know the core reason the country has crashed, starts at the bottom with guys like me. I had golden credit, 729, never missed a payment. I payed 300 a month out to CHASE and others, and no interest covered. I had taken a bad loan from Citibank an tried to bounce to a chase bus credit card with 10 grand open balance, fixed APR set at 10%, and told repeatedly that it would never change. Soon as I bounced that bad loan with like a 27% interest rate to the CHASE card with a FIXED 10% interest, one month later, my interest went to 18%. Then my minimum went up to like 600 a month from 300, which of course would knock nothing off the top of that debt....
So what did I do, I said take that debt an shove it where the sun does not shine CHASE, I am not paying anymore. And I did not pay for like a year, until they threatened to sue, then I filled bankruptcy....
Three months later new credit card company's sending me offers left an right for new card, with free APR for a year. See any problem's here fundamentally thinking of hows thing work. Hey Kev, come by a new car, we will lend you the money.
Now then, I am the fool for creating the debt, but the company's made it impossible for me to ever pay them back, until I stopped paying, then they would have settled for half, but their greed got them ZERO....
Now then add up all of the people who filed, the 15 grand I filed on, is a small piece of the puzzle in the bigger picture of things, 1000's have filled lately, you should see the lines at the bankruptcy lawyers office. Every 15 grand not payed, adds up in the bigger picture of a failed economic system....
Now, I will never use credit again. If I want it, I get money first, then buy it, lesson learned. But, at the expense of the idiots that gave me that much credit....
I hate that I was just another problem brick removed from the system, as I added to this whole mess, but if I had not gotten out from under that debt, I would not be debt free today, and have the extra money to invest in silver and gold....

Well I remember back in 1980 I bought my 1st silver and got stuck it fell then and took 30 years for it to get to what I paid then think it was $16.00 oz.
Anyway I have bought allot more in the last couple years last I got was at $42.00 oz that included shipping and all. Anyway who knows I agree the US dollar is and has been doomed it will not remain the worlds reserve currency and has lost ground already.
We are in for more rough times, I just returned back from being in Texas for the winter and when I left PA there were not many homes for sale around here at all, now four months later I am seeing for sale signs all over around here. The government is trying to keep us smiling but the housing crash it not over yet and I hate to say it but we are in for some rough years ahead I feel for the rest of what life I have left maybe 15 years and I will be gone and my kids can spend my silver unless I need it before who knows.

That is quite a tale of financial woe, Silverhawk. I can't say anything even remotely close to that as I have not been in that situation. I do have a HUGE advantage over a lot of people your age, though. I was raised by Depression Era parents who knew the dangers of credit run wild and the value of money, hard work, saving, and avoiding the banksters, lawyers, and politicians at every possible opportunity. Because of this, I haven't bought a car on credit since 1972. The 3 times in my life when I went into substantial debt were to buy houses. All of these were affordable and not something that gobbled up the 40% of our income that the real estate people said was OK. We laughed in their faces when they said that! I do not know what my FICO score is and do not care. I pay all of my bills in full and on time. I do not plan to ever borrow money again and if there is anything that the banksters cannot stand it is someone who does not need them... and knows it!

Yes Ed, I made some very dumb moves, the biggest was taking a loan from Citibank and actually signing off on a 27% interest loan. I had planned to use some of the money to cover all credit debt, and take the rest and pay back off majority of loan asap. but that did not happen, as life always seems to intervene.... Problem was, were I work on the T.N. river bartending, and I do well like 8 months out of warmer part of the year, but suffer during the four coldest months. Hence using that loan in slow winter when times were hard, and that is how the debt started to begin with.... Anyhow, that was a ways back, and like most thick headed folk, I had to learn the hard way.... I get credit offers all the time, but I only have one card with 300 dollar limit, and I use it to re-establish credit ONLY, then pay off immediately now, even with free APR for a year, rof ....
