today before work I went to a dealer in my area and I got to say everyone dumped there silver last week when silver was at 49, this dealer usually just has a small bucket of 90% coins and now they had buckets filled to the top. right now face is about 25.7 and they were asking 26x face, they must of gotten someones collection for cheap or there in trouble if silver continues to fall. Last week at 46 (33.28x) and at 49 (35.44x)and I would believe they would offer at 30x or below even and now I can see why alot of people went broke in the 80s
I only bought 6 dollar face and on monday depending on how silver looks I may buy a little more, I wish I sold a majority of my silver last week but I dont like to dump anything that I put alot of time and effort in plus most of my silver coins are not really junk but more collectible coins. I did get a few descent coins in what I got including 1927s slq and 2 1927d slq so not bad for melt ;) guess they didnt look at everything.

Bryan, I'm surprised the bins were full...the shops around here will ship off the "junk" 90% (which encompasses more and more late common circ lately) daily to keep from getting stung by a correction. I was disappointed by the correction--last Sunday I was headed to a show with about $20 FV to sell at 30-33x. I got to the show and it had been cancelled. I was out of town Mon-Thurs and today I was offered 21x. I'm in no hurry to sell, so I'll just wait and see what happens. I guess I was most disappointed by the fact that I didn't have $650 to finance more purchases...could have picked up a few key dates I'm missing.  But the story has a happy ending...for another thread. |

Gold was $35 an ounce 43 years ago.
Silver is $35 an ounce today.
Take the money you were gonna spend on kolidge and buy a thousand ounces of silver.
Come retirement age, you'll have $1.5 million worth of silver.
