Pick your self up, dust your self off and get started again. Man I'd hate to see how you would handle it if something REALLY bad happened. Losing $100 is nothing, learn from it and move on. You can't give up and cry every time something bad happens.

I started this hobby (roll searching cents) 6 months ago. This is the cheapest hobby I have ever done. I cringe when I think about the amount of money I have put into my other "hobbies"...

Just don't go out to eat a couple weekends in a row and you'll be set to go again.

Anytime I overextend myself and spend or lose too much money in coin collecting I just stop going out to eat for a week or two, stop wining & dining, no brews, no cinema, no shopping, no bars, no clubs and before you know it you saved enough to get back into the game.

That's the way I look at it at least this hobby leaves something instead of wasting everything like so many other "entertainment" or "recreational" activities.

I do get frustrated occasionally, sometimes with situations like the silver rollercoaster; I feel like I'm being left behind because I don't have any $$ to buy in and reap any reward, or the threads from the 'haves' (my terminology, not derogatory) overwhelm me as a 'have not'. I just drop hobby-related activities, sometimes for many months, then come back in later. It's just taking a break...

Be sure to put your bills in it.
Then get used to carrying it in your rear pocket on your butt,
Even when it's empty!
No, front pocket only! If you have ever been the victim of a pick pocket you will understand.

Get a Tri-fold men's wallet.

when I was younger I carried a wallet for my license and all that stuff but ALWAYS carried my money folded up in my front pocket. I started to realize money was getting lost so I started writing down everything I spent and how much I had and after 3 months of this I realized I was loosing about 100 bucks (average) a month by it just falling out of my pocket. That is when I started putting my money in my wallet

For anyone with enough disposable income to collect coins, a $100 dollar loss is largely insignificant. Does it hurt? Yes, but it is not the end of the world. You just buck up and move on.

Try having your entire collection stolen while moving and then only recovering 5% of it- that happened to me almost 10 years ago. I was PO'd but it had the result of increasing my interest in a hobby that was neglected in my teens and 20s. My collection has done nothing but grow exponentially since then.

Dude, you win some, you lose some, and sometimes you win big. Or to put it another way, what had you bought 20 ASEs on Friday only to find out they lost $8.00 of value on each on Monday? PM buyers go through this a lot more often than you realize. It's the nature of the game.

& yeah, do yourself a favor & get a $10 wallet from the nearest Marshall's or Ross, and save us these pity poor me posts...
