Problem With Mint Proof Set - Coin Community Forum

StormStrikes Valued Member United States 136 Posts	Posted 05/14/2011 2:05 pm Im not sure if I have posted this in the correct place. If not please forgive me. I got my 2011 Mint Proof, Silver Proof and Uncirculated sets in today. Upon inspection I noticed in the Mint Proof set, on the Andrew Johnson dollar coin there are some faded spots on it. They kind of look like water spots almost. I'm not sure what to do about this or if I should do anything at all. Should I try and get a replacement or just live with it? Otherwise the sets look gorgeous. I cant stop looking at the silver proof set, the coins have a very nice cameo, especially the nickel. Other than the spots on the one coin, they are absolutely beautiful. Report this Post to the Staff

Stored one, broke open the other to put in flips and then in my albums so that I could show them and view them myself, which is the process I'm trying to get back to. I didn't realize though that the spots were a common issue. I don't believe I have gotten one like that before. Report this Post to the Staff
