Nice Liberty nickels! We all drove up to our beach house in Maine today for a two week stay. Here's my selection - a very common 1883 - no cents.

The nonsense nickels were hoarded because they were different. By the time they added cents, people didn't care. It's called the squirrel effect.

Thanks for the info biggfredd, I did not know that..  I always thought that the NO-CENT variety was more common because people were hoarding them and making them into Racketeer Nickels. So today there were more NO-CENT varieties kicking around than the ones WITH CENTS  O.K back to Type-1 Buffalo
