Who Uses Half Dollars Any More?

I pay my gas,wawa or any purchase around 30or less just so I dont have to dump. At Places where I go evrydays starting to ask me where I get them and many times the cashier go ask the manager if is real money or what lol !

I ask for half dollars and dollar coins (no SBA's) every time I go to the bank. Occasionally I will get a roll or two of half dollars. I keep 2 of each in my pocket all the time. I try to spend them 1 or 2 at a time and I love to see the different reactions of people when I spend them. I also will educate anyone who asks what they are. I think it has been many years since I have received a half dollar back in change. I don't even see them in the cash drawers anymore. It is a shame that they don't circulate more. I am trying to do my part.

We play games in my bowling league and I make it a point to always use half dollars and dollar coins for my contribution. My bowling buddies (most of them anyway) hate these coins. They call them "funny money". It just makes it all the more fun.

I have seen where they work well in concessions where they don't ring up sales by the quarter dollar, it's one less coin to give out, but weighs about the same as two quarters.
