Anyone save select Zincolns? All the 1983's, 1984-D & 1986. They seem to be the ones very slowly appreciating in value. I knew a man who used to save all 1984 pennies perhaps in hopes of a double-ear variety, but he no longer does. Anyone hoard those four Zincolns?

I collect all Lincoln cents! And anything with Lincoln on it. And I wish people would stop calling them "zincolns" I get it...they are mostly zinc, but show some respect. Just my opinion of course!

Lincolncentguy, It is a shame that the US government had to debase the Lincoln Cent.

I only call them Zincolns to distinguish them from the other Memorial Cents.

I have been pulling what I think are ms zincolns (no disrespect intended; I like them ) & other newer coins. Looking at how little abuse new coins can take I don't think they will survive circulation that long (long being relative).

I agree...while roll searching, it's obvious which compound will stand the test of time...the zinc cent will not.
I never really thought about it, but the years listed probably will be good years to keep. They probably wont sell for premium today or tomorrow but who knows what 20 years will hold.

I save ALL BU cents. The 1986D has the highest, CDN price per roll at $23. The 84D's are very tough to find in the higher grades. Almost all of them are horrible.

I will save them as I find them, which is not very often. I did find a nice 1999 the other day; a CAM, but in great shape.

About a month ago I got a bunch of minty fresh 80's era Zincolns in some CWR's. It was in $150 worth the teller claimed an elderly man brought in who said he was saving them for years.
I'm saving them for now. I don't know what I wanna do with them yet. I suppose I should at least look through them...

Bowfin - Start a roll set! Sounds like good material to get started with.

I feel like I see several 1984-D cents that are nice and shiny but suspect they have been cleaned as there is fading of the words on the back despite being really shiny.

I save em, they all go into a big glass jar, looks pretty, and figure I'll have time to go over them later.
