Poll Question
Just curious, being a collector I have a monthly budget and I'm sure most of us do! However, everyone's budget is a "little" different as a result of their family/self income. Below are 15 categories of prices, answer thruthfully and this will give us all a reasonable estimate in general of what C.C.F. Members spend on average per coin.

My smallest purchase has been a dollar , my highest has been a little over a grand, and there's no real average for me. Saturday I spent around $300, the week before I spent over $1100.

According to my coin database, my average purchase price is $9.16 - the few big-ticket items I own are more than outweighed by the few-cents-each bulk lots, the finds-from-change and the scratchtray picks. There's also a lot of freebies and coins I bought before the early 1990s when I started keeping decent records, which all turn up as "$0.00" in the database.

I have no idea. For me prices can vary from face to thousands. Not even a good guess at an average.

Most of my purchases have been under $50.00. I just bought a coin on Saturday that was $60.00. That has probably been the most expensive one I have got so far. As I am new to coin collecting I don't want to start getting expensive purchases until I understand a lot more than I do now.

Per coin? I think I average about 14 cents right now. Probably several times that once I factor in supplies, albums, etc.

My average could be well below a dollar since a large chunk has come from circulation. I have only spent more than $100 twice (the most being $130).

The average price has changed over time, for what I'm paying now back in the day I could have bought 20 ounces of silver.

Currently almost all of mine are at face value if you don't count the cost of postage to the US.

I have a good CCF friend who I trade with all of time to keep me current on US releases.

Definitely under $50...if I had to guess I'd probably say that my average per coin price is around $3-4. Many of them for a dollar or less and a handful for $10 or more, but a lot of dimes and quarters in the $2-5 range over the years.

Responded with my average cost per purchase which easily falls in the first range ($1-$50) but actual prices vary so much - I buy what I find pleasing to my eye and the only hard and fast rule I have is that my absolute limit for any single coin is $500.

Interesting, it would seem for most of us it's a hobby and not an obsession.
