Hi,

I recently acquired this 1945 20 Centime coin, I do know that it has been unused for almost 60 years (finnish merchant captain traded in northern africa in -45 and -46, after that, this coin has been sitting in a cigar box, until now).

Krause lists this with value around $70 (XF) - $100 (UNC), but does someone know the 'true' market value for this coin? I haven't seen this coin in ebay or anywhere else, so I dunno what has been the most recent selling price.

Here is the actual scan of the coin.

It most probably IS the retail value! Wow that's very interesting. Thanks for the picture.

Thank you all for the information, with that pricing, this coin found almost immediately a new home, in a good collection.

Only just got around to looking this one up in Krause. Mintage over 5 million, but "a large quantity was remelted" - hence the rarity.

Not bad for a piece of zinc. Wonder why they'd remelt zinc coins in 1945, anyway?
