I found this one in the junk bin at the LCS and rescued her for a shade over spot.

I sometimes come across worn flat Sestertii. They were solid brass - it took a good few centuries of circulation to do that to them.

I wouldn't bother with this if it wasn't one of the only three known examples ... but it kinda fits the bill!

Shilling of Charles I from around June 1635. Spink 2793 Sharp E1/3 The plume above the shield on the reverse shows it was struck from silver mined in Wales. Just enough detail to show it's obverse #1 rather than the commoner obv #2.

I notice on various posts throughout the forum that a number of members actual collect PO01 US coins because of their historical interest.

Do collectors also like collecting the worn copper and brass coins?
