2011 $1 Aluminium/Bronze Frosted Uncirculated Coloured Coin -- Grey-headed Flying Fox ?
Will the coins profits aid research into the Hendra virus ..or just go into consolidated revenue? (golden handshake fund)

Very good idea!
They should do something nice to help out with informing the public about this nasty problem and aiding in research donations. Since the coins usually are around $14.95 at lest $1 from each sale could be put towards it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hendra_virus
"The Queensland and NSW Governments will boost research funding into the Hendra Virus by $6 million over the next three years"
Yeah this virus sounds pretty nasty.
They found it in bat pee...
And they still don't really know how it's transmitted. "Most likely one infected animal in contact with another"
Dirty conditions, with plague numbers of bats around don't help.
Bats are quite fragile creatures with sensitive lungs that can be easily damaged with loud sounds "air pressure waves" they have also been found to be infected by basic funguses.
Having millions in bat colonies would spread this virus quite easily. I guess having so many bats would also mean that they have to compete for more food, and they could also get weak immune systems.
Sometime you have to be cruel to be kind but a bat cull might be the only option.
