Hi all,
What is the grade of this penny?
I keep seeing numbers of perls for grade on these,
Where are the "perls" on a penny?

In the band of the King's crown, there are 4 pairs of pearls, like a colon : in between diamonds. 4 clear pairs is an 8 pearler and so on. They are often the first part of the coin to show wear.

Looks OK to me from the pics., but beware! There are forgeries of these around.

The coin does look a little strange, however. There are traces of red in the lettering, but the coin is worn in the area of the headband of the King's crown.

good Fine.

I have 3 of these so far and need to get 1 more.
I want to get 3 complete sets to give to my kids for christmas.
They keep looking at my coins so I recon that if they get there own set of pennys they might get the bug and I will be able to leave them my coins in safe hands when I kark it

I would also say a gFine or possibly better. The beading on the reverse looks better than usual for the grade, so there may be more detail in the crown band I'm not seeing?

Hard to tell from the picture but somewhere between MS-12 and MS-15, fine - gfine.

gF (good Fine) or above. It looks like there is the base of band on the crown which would put it in the Fine category. It's pretty neat & tidy as far as dirt/etc, but it may be from a clean.

But it also looks like there may be 6 pearls on it.

No real damage is visible apart from the rim knock above the V in GEORGIVS.

My only concern are the couple patches of bronze disease that can be seen on the obverse.
