C'mon Steve Engineers = 1.042 x 10^3 Others = 8 x 10^0 There may be a few engineers on site but I recon there are far more military or ex military people than engineers here

Me thinks he is taking the easy way out. The thread has grown to 11 pages perhaps it grew too big for him to keep track of all the different occupations..

ummm, perhaps there is a retired military dude that could possibly go through this thread and tally-up the numbers for the rest of the troops?
My amazing father is currently 88 years old ... he is alive and well and still living in the house that he built with his own hands 60 years ago ... he is a decorated Canadian Armed Forces WW-II bomber pilot ... go Dad, GOOOOOO!
... I'm just sayin'
Thanks

Well being only 13, I've only worked for sports. I ref hockey and baseball. And if it counts my band played at a bar and we got $12 each for a 1 and a half hour set

Okay fine ... I've had a couple of glasses of wine and I quickly tried to update the list that I'd already created on page 5 ... Ummmm, maybe it's the wine, but it is quite difficult to fit everybody into a specific slot, so I admit that I may have taken some liberties, plus I occasionally double-counted a few people (example => I gave a software engineer a tick in the IT column, plus a tick in the Engineer column) ... but overall, I did okay and it is merely a "general touch-base" to see what we all do for a living, right? ... anyways ... I made an effort to keep you dudes informed and here is what I came-up with: IT/Tech/Prog => 13 Engineers => 12 Students => 12 Const/Trades => 12 Education => 10 Armed Forces => 8 Police/Paramed/Nurse/Dental/SocWork => 6 Baker/Chef/Rest => 3 Bar/Spirits => 2 ------------------ Other => 24 NOTE => I'm positive that if somebody else danced-through this entire thread that their "classifications" may vary slighty/considerably from my numbers (sadly, obviously a survey that allowed people to vote on their job clasification would have been far more "efficient" than my extremely non-engineering survey => "my bad") ... I feel dirty anyway ... my boss would want a summary right about now, so I'll add-in this "stevex6" very-approx recap/interp: => IT-Types => 13% => Engineers = 12% => Trades = 12% => Students => 12% => Education => 12% => Armed Froces => 8% ---------------------- => "The Rest" => 31% STEVEX6 SUMMARY => Overall, there isn't a "huge" winner/outlier ... however, there is a slight correlation that IT/Eng/Educ/Student make-up 50% of coin collectors ... Proving nothing => and happily indicating that 50% of coin collectors are "not" geeky dudes and gals => cementing the fact that => "COIN COLLECTING IS FOR EVERYBODY"!

you can find the work I've done while at the Academy on my youtube page. http://www.youtube.com/Imohtep123/ and thats my youtube homepage :) I'm just disappointed that I never had a chance to upload one of my videos. I interviewed city councilor Thomas Steen, former Winnipeg Jets legend. Someone deleted the video from the drive at school before I had a chance to upload it :(

As I am only 14 I'm a student, although after I move this summer I am thinking of doing some buying and selling of silver and small antiques.

I am an archaeologist. I don't do excavation work anymore, so handling coins is my substitute for handling artifacts.

I'm an engineering school dropout. At the time partying was more appealing, so I took a couple of years off. I eventually went back to school and earned my pharmacy doctorate. I work for a small infusion now as a clinical pharmacist.

I am not an engineer! I retired from the USAF in 2001 after 25yrs. A private company offering contract support to the USAF hired me upon retirement. Now I don't have to move every 2~3 years, but it's harder deciding what to wear every day.
