I see I am not the only one who has a tough time choosing a favorite from this series. I have a special fondness for naturally dark-toned Morgans in lightly circulated condition. Here are a few highlights from a batch recently picked from my favorite melt source. Enjoy! 1880: This is a very darkly toned coin that was removed from a bezel. It's likely the only wear it received was from contact with a Victorian age bosom. 1886: This one has golden amber toning and amazing proof-like fields. 1921: Sooo easy to find in shiny AU condition; less so with nice dark toning. My photos do not do these coins justice. 1878cc: I seldom see a 'cc' in that scrap silver pile. Please tell me how well I made out buying this fairly low mintage coin at slightly above dump price.

Like everyone else, picking just one is tough. This coin has very deep mirrors, and needs no special lighting for the colors to just pop off the surfaces. The picture is from the Goldberg auction when the coin was still in a first generation pcgs rattler, graded ms65 dmpl.

OK, I just can't pick one. This is also a neat coin, and has been in my collection for almost 10 years. I also purchased it through the Goldberg auctions (their pics) where it had been consigned by Bryan Sonnier (gsaguy). Graded ms65 by pcgs. 1882-s

Just got a couple more Brilliant Uncirculated (MS-60 - MS-63) "Prooflike" in the mail today. I love proof coins in general and, while I can't afford an actual proof Morgan, these do nicely. Of the two, here's the better looking one (in my opinion):
