I am a one who must be organized in everything in my life. So..
I have been sorting my collection by date, mintmark, denomination. I have been putting, [mostly the silver] coins in a maylar holder. But now I think I would like to put them
in a folder or album for each (pennies, dimes, nickels, etc) to keep them all together and to keep track of what I still need to complete the collection.
What is the least expensive folder/album? Which will also hold the coins in maylars? I would like to keep each denomination seperate that will hold all mintmarks for each coin.

Hi Sil, Recently been trying to sort out the best compromise between safe storage and convenient display myself. I opted for a combination of 2x2s, saflips, and intecept 2x2 holders in three ring binder sheets. Here is what folks had for me when I asked a similar question: https://goccf.com/t/419Problem is that slabbed coins don't fit the eagle sheets, of course. Don't know a good way around that, but I suppose one could use three ring binder sheets designed to hold slabs and just realize that less coins work per page. Don't forget the silica gel! Don |

If these are in better grades, I suggest Intercept products. They make albums and holders that offer great protection.

Use 2x2 holders, a good stapler, pliers to crimp the 4 staples nice and tight. Stick them in a 3 ring binder and make sure they are kept at room temperature in dry conditions. Then get those Avery labels (80 per sheet) and center on line #1 in #12 font (bold arial) the date and mint mark. The second line centered in #8 regular font is where I include the mintage numbers. All this can be done nice and neat on your computer with WORD. Now of course, you can do as you please, but I find this better than any folder with the sliding plastic windows. This way, you can remove the 2x2 from the page to examine it more closely...or show it to another numismatic. Then, if you have some nice coins and grades, use the Intercept Shields and stick them in an Eagle page holder to display them like normal 2x2's.  Edited by zakgold

Zac So you put your coins in intercept holders in separate album pages? Sil, another option that works with both 2x2s and interecpt holders and the like are the enlongated boxes that 2x2's are supplied in to dealers, or fancy ones like this: http://www.brent-krueger.com/eagleh...TORAGE%20BOXDon PS, Reading topics such as this, folks often state to store at room temp. I understand the need to avoid heat, and big temperature extremes, but wouldn't cold be ok? It would slow or stop any chemical process vs room temp. And cool or cold air holds less water than warm air- 60 degree air at 80% relative humidity actually holds less water vapor than 70 degree air that has a relative humidity of 65%. |

All storage should include a silica gel pack. These are well worth the few dollars.

Is there any binder storage system that gives you the abuility to store both cardboard 2x2 and intercept or snaptite 2x2's? I want a binder to include an entire series. So this would include more valuable coins that need to be stored better then others.

Mila Cent your best bet is to AVOID the term "least expensive" as it would be by far better for you and your collection to buy the BEST to store your coins. I have tried just about everything through the years and until I finally placed all my valuable coins in air tites or better I paid the price. I really like Dansco Deluxe Albums but if the mylar slides down enough to let air in, well, toning will occur very rapidly. I have NEVER had a coin tone in an air tite. Have most of my sets, such as nickels, dimes, quarters and halves in Dansco Albums but check them quite often for toning. I want my WHITE uncs. to remain white!

It was just a link to Show him some interresting ways Ageka, I did not tell him to get them there, little diffficult, when he's in the states don't you think? Thanks guys, I guess what I am asking is will snap ties fit in the album sheets I know the cardboard 2x2's will but will the plastics?
