Binary Or Trinary Bill - Coin Community Forum

cbrux71 New Member Canada 1 Posts	Posted 08/09/2011 10:26 am I just got a $20 dollar not with the serial 0212211. Would this be considered a binary or a trinary because of the zero at the front. Any help would be appreciated for a beginner. Thanks, Chris Report this Post to the Staff

I'm not too familiar with currency, but I think the trinary note you have is still spendable and not worth much/any premium, especially in circulated condition. but if you like it, by all means keep it! Nickelman Pillar of the Community United States 1397 Posts	Posted 08/09/2011 12:37 pm Some serial numbers get away with a zero in it like a ladder for example 00345678. Binary notes have serials comprised of just 2 numbers and the zeros do count, so your 7 digit serial is not a binary. Edited to add to the forum! Being a drummer myself I had to learn many years ago the binary and ternary note (not paper note:) patterns. This reminds me of that 1930's 1K note that went for a few million on ebay. Serial # 00000010 I believe that would make it the lowest possible binary number run. Report this Post to the Staff
