@silverdollarnuts...

Im interested to know which coins in the market are unique to that set. By unique I dont mean a special privy, etc. Looking at the 2011 set it is not that great IMO, there are 3 coins that are not .999 and just seem out of place with the entire focus of the set which is world bullion.

I know someone in my family who bought last years set and while it is all nice and everything it ended up costing him a fortune. All the coins in these sets can be acquired separately at an affordable price, except of course the privy coins, but in the grand scheme of things is a privy really worth THAT much when the focus of the set is actually a highlight of the best 15 world (bullion) coins out there.

Its a gimmick and many people are falling for the overpriced coins and the fancy boxes. By the time my set is done it will really be a highlight of the best world bullion coins out there at a fraction of the F15 set the RCM is putting out

I would love to have a set of all the different bullion coins every year. Why can't some dealers do that for us? I'm sure a set can be assembled that would be cheaper than the Mint's F15 set.

Last year APMEX had something similar.

But if you want just the privy, ebay has them. I was listing some 2011 zebra and eagle before but no takers. :(

So I have finally completed my set of World Bullion coins. This is more like a fabulous 23 rather than 15. Overall it ended up costing a few hundred dollars less than a Fab 15 set would cost and it contains nicer coins than a Fab 15 set.

If cost is an issue then one can also cut down on the amount of coins by making it one of each country but I wanted to have the multiple issues for the year for countries such as Canada and Australia

Here is my final list for those looking at putting a set of these together. If anyone has any problem locating some of the coins I can point you in the right direction.

United States- 1 dollar American Silver Eagle 41mm
Canada - " 5 dollars Maple Leaf 38mm
Canada - "5 dollars Wood Bison (Wildlife Series) 38mm
Canada- 5 dollars Antelope (Wildlife Series) 38mm
Australia- 1 dollar Koala 41mm
Australia- 1 dollar Lunar 46mm
Australia- 1 dollar Kookaburra 41mm
Australia- Kangaroo 40mm
Mexico- Libertad 40mm
China-10 Yuan Panda 40mm
Armenia- 500 Dram Noah's Ark 39mm
Somalia- 100 shillings African Wildlife Elephant- 39mm
Cook Islands- 1 dollar (ship design) 39mm
Fiji-2 dollars Taku 41mm
Gabon-1,000 Francs Springbock
New Zealand-1 dollar Kiwi 41mm
Andorra- Eagle 1 diner 39mm
Suriname- 10 dollars (map of Suriname) 38mm
Rwanda- Cheetah (50 Ruanda Francs) 40mm
Somaliland- 1000 shillings Lunar Snake 39mm
Austria-1.50 Euro Philharmoniker 37mm
UK- 1 pound Brittania 39mm
Tokelau- $5 Year of the Snake 39mm

@rodz

i know its a gimmick but the andora eagle (not 1 oz), the palma (not pure silver and not 1 0Z)...just try and find these 2 coins...good luck (unless a set is seperated)...and for a silver coin collector the privy mark is worth the money....for sure its a gimmick and I would not get another one, but the set looks real nice all together....and there is some 1 oz silver coins that are more beautifull than most of the coins in the set that arent in this....i think its just a good way for the mint to sell collections with a litle privy mark..the bottum line is that they are all bullion and shouldnt be more $$$$ than a couple of bucks over spot price...the one I have is the 2011 if you want to know...

there is an andora eagle for sale on thebay for over 170$, and the palma for 140$, Austalia roo is 160$

so at around 700 sets of the privy 2011 silver coins...these are pretty rare..

So I finally finished my set of 23 world bullion coins. Some of them definitely cost more than bullion prices because they were hard to source. If youre looking at completing one of these sets on your own expect to order some of them from overseas, namely Germany as there seems to be quite a few bullion coins that are minted in Germany for other countries. I recently acquired the following from Germany to finish off the collection

-2013 Andorra Eagle $33.23
-2013 Cook Islands Bounty $36.09
-2013 Gabon Springbok $40.92
-2013 Australian Kangaroo $73.40
-2013 Suriname (Map of Suriname) $33.36

Total $217

Unfortunately silver is heavily taxed in Germany so these bullion coins which pretty much are available in Europe only (unless imported into the US) are going to cost significantly more than bullion.

This is the final tally for all the coins, prices and measurements of each if anyone is interested so they can purchase the required capsules, etc

United States- 1 dollar American Silver Eagle 41mm $28.49
Canada â€" 5 dollars Maple Leaf 38mm $34.27
Canada â€"5 dollars Wood Bison (Wildlife Series) 38mm $33.27
Canada- 5 dollars Antelope (Wildlife Series) 38mm $35.27
Australia- 1 dollar Koala 41mm $35.22
Australia- 1 dollar Lunar 46mm $47.38
Australia- 1 dollar Kookaburra 41mm $32.14
Australia- Kangaroo 40mm $73.40
Mexico- Libertad 40mm 38.23
China-10 Yuan Panda 40mm $36.66
Armenia- 500 Dram Noah's Ark 39mm 46.07
Somalia- 100 shillings African Wildlife Elephant- 39mm 39.95
Cook Islands- 1 dollar (ship design) 39mm $36.09
Fiji-2 dollars Taku 41mm $37.10
Gabon-1,000 Francs Springbock $40.92
New Zealand-1 dollar Kiwi 41mm $59.00
Andorra- Eagle 39mm $33.23
Suriname- 10 dollars (map of Suriname) 38mm $33.36
Rwanda- Cheetah (50 Ruanda Francs) 40mm 60.58
Somaliland- 1000 shillings Lunar Snake 39mm 46.07
Austria-1.50 Euro Philharmoniker 37mm $32.96
UK- 1 pound Brittania 39mm $35.02
Tokelau- $5 Year of the Snake 39mm $39.95

Total cost including shipping is $934.63.

Not sure how much issue price is on the Fab 15 set costs so maybe someone can do a cost comparison between this set and the Fab 15

Very nice! I just started to work on a Fab "15" set of my own, using your list as a reference! I think you saved yourself close to 400-500$ doing it on your own and to top off you have 8 more coins in your set than the Fab 15!

@BronzeBender...

I can tel you that the uncommon bullion coins such as Andorra, Gabon, Suriname, Cook Islands, Somaliland and Tokelau were definitely the hardest to come by and required a lot of time researching online and fibnd places hat sold them. Those 6 above were perhaps the most difficult to source because they are available in Europe only. The Tokelau can be bought easily though since Modern Coin Mart is their US distributor but the other ones not so much.

All of them minus the Tokelau coin can be bought here: http://www.kraatz-edelmetalle.de/46..._category=46

Not sure if they ship to the US or not, but its worth a try contacting them via email to see if they ship. Well worth it if you can get your hands on them as they would make your fab 15 set stand out from the typical ones sold through RCM. You can also look at ebay US or ebay Germany and may find some that sell a few of them, I can tell you though that right now you wont find any from Gabon or Suriname on ebay as they seem to be sold through dealers.Either way good luck

@rodzm and BronzeBender:

guys, this is impressive bullion collection, but:

I myself do not fan of RCM Fab15 set (althouh have 7 coins from 2012 and didn't cancel yet), but isn't it suppose to be collection of "best 15", like RCM tries to do?

In other words, what I am trying to say:
You have realy rare coins in the list, you spent less and have more coins, more than 15, how did you limit your collection to the "F15"?
Why for example you have Canada SML, Bisone and Anthelope - and Wolf or F15 SML is missing?
Why you need the couple of coins to represent Australia and Somali (Somaliland)?
If you'll buy some Mongolian coin - will it enter to your list? And other contries (that you still do not have)?
Are you trying to add Proof versions) they are beautifull, but will raise your expenses)?

All these questions actually for myself too - how to limit the "F15 set", or even basically - to create such set or just to collect "All Over the World"

@rodzm Thanks! I'm going to be taking a look at the link beacuase I agree its very hard to find those specific coins! I had ordered the Tokelau from Modern Coin Mart last week and I managed to order the Andorra 1 Diner too from another German dealer, Aurinum. I'm excited to see my own "Fab 15"/around the world coins set come to life!

@ Silveroid I dont think it's the RCM that actually comes up with it, I found the same set from the German Mint with their own packaging Take a look
I was going to use my own coin preferences and put together what I thought was the nicest silver coins. After all why have coins in your collection that you're not a fan of. I'm probably going to limit it to one coin per country, so no bison or antelope, because well...I cant afford doubles for a country for now

My collection is basically consisting of world coins but they must be bullion coins (no proofs, privy, .925,colorized, etc). This keeps the costs somewhaat lower than buying privied coins and special releases. I really couldve limited the set to one per country, or the main releases for each country but I wanted to add extra coins from those countries just to have them. Somalia and Somaliland are actually two diferent countries, one is recognized and Somaliland is an unrecognised self-declared de facto sovereign state that is internationally recognised as an autonomous region of Somalia.

I may eventually add special releases to the set with coins that have as close to bullion pricing or coins that are part of this years Fab 15 set. In the end the set should really consists of the world's best silver coins, but most of all it should be a set youre comfortable with and you can afford

I was thinking to get the suscription for the FAB 15 - 2013 but only up to the fifth coin. I would have the SML at $59.95, the wooden box, the SML Wristwatch ($99) and of course the 5 first coins but according to I read here there isn`t guarantee that the Mint will ship in order .....

From my experience with the 2011 collection, I received the box after the fifth coin paid.
But the first 5 coins were all bullion easily obtained elsewhere for much cheaper.

@arianzo the nice collection box and watch is tempting but I dont think I can get myself to pay such a high premium for the ASE, Britannia or Libertad. I guess in a way the high price actually just pays off for the box and wristwatch (when you stay for just the first 5) but if you continue with the set is the extra $$ worth it in the end.
