Quote: First, the Canadian pronghorn is far from being a Fabulous 15 bullion of the world.... and second with no privy mark it's just insulting!! I can feel your sadness. Annually they offer this collection, and fail to provide bullion coins that worth to call Fab15 and worth to pay for them. Come on, RCM, just order some bullion over the world with F15 privy mark and limited mintage (10.000) - it will be good enough.

@vanno - google "square quandrum capsules". Should be avail online or in person at any reputable coin shop in Canada or US. Quandrum 2x2's are pretty much the industry standard square holders. Unfortunately they use a special black or white foam to hold the coins in place. So, these are not exactly like the 2x2 capsules that RCM uses for the Fab 15 coins. RCM have special ordered from another plastic coin holder manufacture whose name currently escapes me. For canadian silver maples you want the 38mm (or 39mm) foam size. Other world coins including the ASE, you want the 40mm (or 41mm) foam inserts.

@Vanno:
I am not sure, that standard quadrum capsule (plastic with foam) will fit the F15 box slot. I can try - today evening and post.

@vanno @silveroid
quadrum capsules fit perfectly in the F15 box. In fact they are a easier to remove, as they are about 1 mm smaller than the 2x2 capsules that the coins come in.

Thanks ep7, for finding this out. So probably, in opposite - the capsules that RCM uses will nit fit standard boxes for 2x2 quadrums. I just remember,that some asynchronization exists.

The 2x2 capsules issued with the Fab15 should fit any 2x2 box holder, as do the 2x2 quadrums. But it appears the fit will be tighter with the Fab15 capules. They are simply manufactured by two different companies. The "Lighthouse" or "Leuchttturm" Quadrum are german made, so their tolerances are much better and are designed slightly "smaller" so they fit easier in all 2x2 boxes (including, obviously, their brand of boxes) and are also easier to remove, without accidentally splitting the capsule in half and exposing the coin to air. Here is what the 2x2 quadrums and the 10 packs (approx $8US per 10pack) look like, if folks are not familiar with them:

After reading a few pages of this thread, I thought I would cancel my 2013 F15 subscription. Reading a bit more, I realize that, at 9 coins, I might go on since most F15 privies are to come.
But I also decided to start a 2014 collection. Not sure if I'll insist on privies when they are available (somewhat for the same reasons I don't want to add private mints rounds or special editions (some Canadians might have the boot !) or will simply restrict myself to the "regular" offerings.
I already have the 2014 Australian Crocodile and Koala, the Canadian Maple Leaf (with horse privy... I know). Not sure yet what box I'll use (and therefore whether I'll keep them in round or 2 x 2 holders.
Your thoughts ?

Quote: Your thoughts ? What is the target / specialization of 2014 collection? You have already the 2013, so do you want to have the 2014 set of the same countries, or do you want to expand it to other mints? All these sets are part of "all over the world bullion (semi- numis) coins" collection. So nothing wrong to have the 2 subsets (2013, 2014), but will be less attractive, unless most of the coins will have some difference (in design for example, like used to be Britannia, current Koala, Kook, Somali Elephant). In this case - you also might start the 2015 one.... And another way - just expand your 2013 to other mints, not necessary to keep them in one box, use many. Anyway - good luck, I found the world bullion very interesting and educative collection. Btw, recently got the last item in my own 2012 F15. Will post picture later at night or tomorrow.

You right, it is there. I just tried to login and search. Hmmm...nothing different, just misleading pictures of the F15 SML, shown as Reverse Proof, when it probably will be BU as in 2013.

I'm not a fan of them doing a BU version again. Seems like their just getting lazy. Every year except 2013 has had a satain or reverse proof finish making the coin ( to me anyway ) more desirable. Obviously I'll be continuing my collection but I feel their taking advantage of their customers because they know the fabulous series has a huge following.

Since you have no way of knowing what coins it will include, as the RCM doesn't list that, it is a real (and real costly) gamble. It seems like, from the posts in this thread, there is alot of discontent and frustration with the Fab 15 series. Why do folks continue to sign up for it?
