I asked someone who bought some "sterling" bracelets in Mexico: Do you think a kid smart enough to mine and manufacture silver and make bracelets is so stupid he'll sell for 20 cents on the dollar?

I have about 40 of these in my inbox on ebay. I spent 30 min reporting counterfeit coins.

Dear ,

Thanks for reporting this listing to us.

I investigated this listing and confirmed that it violated our Selling
Currency policy. As a result, I removed the listing.

Again, thank you for your report. We appreciate your help in keeping
ebay a safe and reputable forum to conduct business.

Sincerely,

Judith

I want to try to fix the coin, pm and currency problems. Which, in my opinion, can really damage the hobby and business of the Coin Community Family.

I've heard of German silver, never Tibetan silver.

The influx of fakes from China extends to not only Silver coins I'm afraid.

This guy seems to be selling fake French brass 50 Francs. Not sure why as they are not that valuable - maybe they mistook them for a valuable coin? This is, of course, listed with a plethora of fake "silver" coins. While this particular auction - or set of auctions -is labelled as copy - fair enough - I just wish they wern't so many around.

He did clearly state that his merchandise is marked "COPY" and his posted image is also clearly marked "COPY." The vendor even mentioned that sent items can take longer than normal if sent to different locations outside his local mailing area.

I do understand your concern though.

If I were Tibetan and I saw where the Germans could their copper nickel stuff called German Silver, I'd want to create an alloy and call it Tibetan Silver, too.
