That is a great find. Just wondering what you might have got if you took all twenty "prez" dollar coins she had? Please keep us updated.

XF45-ish, but the look of the reverse around "OF" makes me think it's an ex-jewelery piece. So, a $600 coin becomes, well, still worth a heck of a lot more than a dollar.

Huh? There is roughly $900 worth of gold in that coin if gold is at $1850-ish. If you have some similar ones for sale at $600, please let me know. :P

OK, so gold went up a little bit since the last time I looked.

Either way, it's a melt-value coin. An MS62 went for $948.75 at Heritage last month, when gold was at $1650.

When I got in my car and pulled it out to see what it was, I got excited, even if it wasn't real...
This reminds me of Charlie Bucket finding the golden ticket in his chocolate bar.

Hil-da-beast! Funny

I am dying to ask which bank you went to but I have a funny feeling your lips will be sealed.

So, my question to everyone here green with envy, if bjones did give up his source, how far would YOU drive to get there? With my current schedule, I think 16 hours each way would be my max (not complaining, have a job that needs me).

If that thing is authentic - I believe it is the best find I can recall anyone finding for just face value!

Congratulations - lightning strikes occasionally!

Actually, less than face - he got a $10 piece for $1. You are right, this is the best I have heard of as well.
