A few here have many older redbooks and data on coins, so I'm curious about the historical value of these coins/grades :

I'm mainly looking for past values for 1985, 1990 , 2000

AU-50 1875-S 20c
G4 1916-D Merc Dime
VF30 1880 CC morgan

Any help would be appreciated, especially if there are any tools online to check value. I'm mostly concerned with what kind of yields I can expect out of these coins I hold.

I thought I had a couple Redbooks from back when I started collecting in the 80s, but I can't find them now. I did find a copy of the 1998 RedBook though, so here is what it says about your coins.

AU-50 1875-S 20c It doesn't give an AU 50 price, but XF40 is $160 and MS60 is $475

G4 1916-D Merc Dime $435

VF30 1880 CC morgan No VF30 price. VF20 is $55 and XF40 is $80

Hope it helps!

What I'm trying to do is determine what coins I Should keep and what ones I should sell as far as appreciation over the years goes.

From the 1990 prices given , it means I can expect *about* 1.2%/yr on the 20c , 7.5%/yr on the merc, and 13.5%/yr on the morgans.

I have all the Red Books from the 1st to present. Most never opened and since so many already gave you some ideas, it is not necesssary.

That really depends on how long you hold them. If tomorrow, about what people say. If in about 100 years, no one really knows.
